Steak and Charred Corn Salad Instructions
Prepare the steak.
Start by coating both sides of the sirloin steak with a drizzle of oil. Season generously with salt and black pepper, making sure both sides are evenly coated.
Cook the steak.
Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned sirloin steak and cook for approximately 4 minutes on each side, adjusting the cooking time depending on the thickness of your steak and your preferred doneness.
Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the pan and baste the steak with the melted butter as it finishes cooking.
Rest and slice the steak.
Remove the steak from the heat and allow it to rest briefly before slicing.
Using a sharp knife, cut the steak into long, even slices against the grain. Set aside while you prepare the salad.
Char the corn.
Place the 4 ears of corn over your stovetop flame, carefully turning them as they cook to achieve an even char.
Allow the corn to roast for approximately 6 minutes, or until the kernels develop a beautiful golden-brown, slightly charred exterior to your liking.
Remove the corn kernels.
Once the corn is charred, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.
Using a sharp knife, carefully slice downward along each cob to remove the kernels. Transfer the charred corn into a large mixing bowl.
Prepare the salad.
Dice half an avocado and 1/2 cup of cherry tomatoes, then finely chop the fresh cilantro.
Add everything to the mixing bowl with the charred corn, followed by 1/4 cup of feta cheese.
Add the honey and mix.
Drizzle honey over the corn salad to add a touch of sweetness that complements the smoky corn and savory feta cheese.
Gently toss everything together until the ingredients are evenly combined.
Serve & Enjoy.
Transfer the charred corn salad into a serving bowl and arrange the sliced sirloin steak over the top.
Serve immediately and enjoy a fresh, flavorful, and protein-packed meal that's perfect for an easy lunch or dinner!
