This easy and light drink is made with a simple syrup infused with fresh mint and served with crisp cucumber, it’s light, fragrant, and incredibly refreshing over ice.

This is one of those simple Persian recipes that proves you don’t need many ingredients to create something special. Fresh mint adds a beautiful herbal flavor to the sweet syrup, while cucumber makes every sip crisp and cooling.

Serve Sekanjebin chilled over plenty of ice for the perfect refreshing summer drink.

Sekanjebin Ingredients

  • 4 cups water

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 bunch fresh mint

  • 1 cucumber

  • Ice, for serving

Sekanjebin Instructions

  1. Make the syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from the heat, then add the bunch of fresh mint and allow it to steep in the syrup, releasing its fresh, aromatic flavor.

  2. Cool it down

Let the mint steep in the syrup for 30 minutes.

Strain the mixture, then transfer the liquid to a heat-safe container. Place it in the refrigerator and allow it to chill completely.

  3. Prepare the cucumber

Wash the cucumber and slice or grate it, depending on your preferred texture.

The cucumber adds a crisp, refreshing element that pairs beautifully with the sweet mint-infused drink.

  4. Assemble the Drink

Fill a glass with plenty of ice and add the cucumber.

Pour the chilled Sekanjebin mixture over the ice and cucumber. Garnish with additional fresh mint if desired.

Serve immediately and enjoy ice cold.
