A Refreshing Persian Cucumber and Yogurt Dip
Mast o Khiar is one of those dishes I’ll never get tired of. It’s cool, creamy, and the perfect balance of fresh and savory. This Persian cucumber yogurt dip is a staple in Persian households and one of the easiest recipes to whip up when you need something light but flavorful. Serve it as a side, with warm bread, or even with chips—it instantly elevates any meal.
Ingredients
4 Persian cucumbers, diced
1 1/2 cups Greek yogurt - I used (Mountain High)
1 teaspoon dried mint
1 teaspoon dried dill
Salt to taste
Optional: dried rose petals for garnish
Serves: 2-3
Instructions
Dice your clean Persian cucumbers into small pieces and add them to a bowl.
Spoon in the Greek yogurt and gently stir to combine.
Add dried mint, dill, and salt to taste. Mix until everything is well blended.
Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with a pinch of rose petals if you want to add a little flair.
This dish is simple, refreshing, and incredibly versatile. Whether you’re serving a full Persian spread or just want a healthy dip in the fridge, Mast o Khiar is always a good idea. I love how the dried herbs bring depth to the yogurt and cucumber base. I also like to add dried rose petals because they elevate the dish and make it feel a little more special.
